Engineering Ministries International (eMi) is a development organization that mobilizes professional engineers, architects, and surveyors for short-term mission trips in order to help meet the needs of the poor all over the world by providing designs that improve lives and provide for the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a project team leader, Scott Powell leads about three teams per year to different locations around the world where long-term ministries or missionaries have requested a design that will help meet the needs of the poor and spread the Gospel. Scott's three-fold ministry in leading these trips is to minister to the volunteer design professionals on his team, the overseas missionaries who have requested the design, and the nationals who will be served through the project. Scott is also eMi's Disaster Response Coordinator, and in this role he mobilizes volunteer design professionals to respond to worldwide disasters as they strike. Laura works with eMi to develop and implement a plan for caring for missionaries who live overseas for lengthy periods of time.
