Laura's joy is to spend her days with internationals who are studying at the University of Denver (about 850 internationals from 90 nations). She reaches out to these students by friendship evangelism - talking by phone or emailing, meeting for lunch or dinner, having Bible study together or praying with them in times of discouragement, counseling them through various trials and situations, taking a walk in the park to talk, or teaching them to bake. To her delight, she has been able to disciple many and has baptized some. Impacting lives for eternity is the heart of her ministry. There are approximately 720,000 internationals studying in the USA coming from about 188 nations. Almost half come from countries that are closed to the Gospel. But here they are, finding themselves out from under the oppression of their government, society pressures and are open to the newness of a society and culture that boasts of freedom.
