About CCC > Baptism/Dedication
Baptism is a serious step in the life of a believer. It not only represents a cleansing from sin, but also a close
identification with Christ. Of course the water doesn't affect salvation, just as a wedding ring doesn't make one married.
Yet, it is a powerful outward sign of one's relationship with Jesus. It also helps you to publicly proclaim that you identify
with Christ rather than the world.
In preparing for baptism or dedication, we expect that you are living a lifestyle consistent with that of a fully devoted follower
of Christ. If you are living together outside of marriage, or if for some other reason you might not be living up to your responsibilities
as a disciple of Christ, please consider postponing your baptism until you are sure that you are ready.
In order to be called up front on Sunday, you must first attend our mandatory baptismal class, which takes place the previous week. Don't forget to call
ahead if you need infant or childcare in order to help you attend your baptismal ceremony.
