About CCC > Church Membership
Because so many of us are coming from such a variety of backgrounds,
we feel it is important to explain what “membership” means
at Colorado Community Church.
In the New Testament, a local church is far more than a brick and mortar
building that people go to for worship. Instead, the church is described
as the spiritual body of Christ, which is made up of everyone who believes
in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Church membership should reflect
one’s membership in Christ’s universal fellowship. If you
aren’t quite sure that you have surrendered your life to Jesus
through personal faith in Him, then you might want to meet with one
of our Pastors to discuss this further.
Finally, membership calls for a consistent application of God’s
truth to everyday life. Certainly none of us will ever come near perfection
until the Lord returns. However, a disciple of Jesus is one who consistently
strives to conform to the will of God.
If you find yourself not yet ready to give something up which you know
is less than pleasing to the Lord, or if you are living together outside
of marriage, we would request that you postpone membership at this time.
Remember, membership is not a requirement for worshipping and fellowshipping
with us at CCC!
If you are interested in joining CCC, we require you to attend our
New Members Class. Things such as sacraments, the uniqueness of the
Bible, church history, and where we (as a church) fit into all of this
will be covered. There will also be an opportunity for you to learn
about different ministry outreaches.
Class Dates for 2008:
All classes meet from 4:00 – 8:30 pm. A light dinner is served
and childcare is available by reservation. Contact the church at 303-783-3838 to register.
If you are interested in signing up for our next class, or want to talk
to a pastor about what it means to surrender your life to Jesus, please
contact us at 303-783-3838.
