WHAT TO EXPECT

When you drop your child/ren off for the first time, plan on taking a few minutes to fill out some information for us. This will allow us to quickly check you in if you return as well as provide us with some critical information in the event of an emergency.

We’ll show you to your child’s classroom to meet their teachers and brief you on our pick-up and drop-off procedures. Your child will be under the care of at least two teachers.

All teachers are trained and background-checked for added security.

See you soon!

cm-special-needs

The goals of the Special Needs Ministry are:

  1. To extend the above Children’s Ministry goals to reach every child, including those that have a special need
  2. To provide a relevant and impactful curriculum that is adapted to meet the special needs of each individual child when appropriate
  3. To offer supportive environments and 1:1 and small group care with trained, in-class volunteer “Buddies” so that children with special needs can be fully part of our Children’s Ministry program
  4. Eventually, to establish two special classrooms, where children whose needs can’t be met with the support of a Buddy in the general education classroom will be able to learn about Jesus through an adapted curriculum and specially-trained Sunday School teachers

In order to support children with special needs in our ministry, we have brought together a team of church members that have backgrounds in working with children with special needs.

Team members include a Special Educator, a speech pathologist, a physical therapist, a registered nurse practitioner, a school psychologist, a staff member of Special Olympics and parents of children with special needs.
