WHAT TO EXPECT

When you drop your child/ren off for the first time, plan on taking a few minutes to fill out some information for us. This will allow us to quickly check you in if you return as well as provide us with some critical information in the event of an emergency.

We’ll show you to your child’s classroom to meet their teachers and brief you on our pick-up and drop-off procedures. Your child will be under the care of at least two teachers.

All teachers are trained and background-checked for added security.

See you soon!

cm-poco-a-poco

Register now for the fall season!

Our choir season will start again with a Fall Kick-Off for the whole family September 13th from 4:30-6pm. We will meet in the Upper Room for an informational meeting and some fun and fellowship.

Poco a Poco is our kids choir for 1st – 8th grade boys and girls.

There are 2 rehearsal times each week – come to one, come to both or switch back and forth between them.

NEW Rehearsal times:

  1. 4:00pm-5:00pm on Saturdays
  2. 9:30am-10:30am on Sundays

The reason for the time change is because we desire to have a little more time to work with the kids during choir rehearsal. We still desire for the kids to be fed spiritually in their classes after choir each week. Since they will be rehearsing during the first service each day, we will no longer be checking them into Sunday School for the first service, only for second service. If you are attending the first service, you may take them into musical worship with you and then send them out at the appropriate time.

Though choir is an atmosphere for them to worship the Lord, we would still love to see your kids able to attend Sunday School during the second service if at all possible for your family. You will still check them in for the second service at the same time you check them into choir. The choir director will take them to Sunday School directly from choir if you have chosen that option.

Otherwise, parents please plan to pick up your child directly from the choir room at the end of rehearsal. Rehearsals take place in the choir room in the front of the Children’s Ministry Office, which is located between the liquor store and the Mexican Supermarket.

cm-special-needs

The goals of the Special Needs Ministry are:

  1. To extend the above Children’s Ministry goals to reach every child, including those that have a special need
  2. To provide a relevant and impactful curriculum that is adapted to meet the special needs of each individual child when appropriate
  3. To offer supportive environments and 1:1 and small group care with trained, in-class volunteer “Buddies” so that children with special needs can be fully part of our Children’s Ministry program
  4. Eventually, to establish two special classrooms, where children whose needs can’t be met with the support of a Buddy in the general education classroom will be able to learn about Jesus through an adapted curriculum and specially-trained Sunday School teachers

In order to support children with special needs in our ministry, we have brought together a team of church members that have backgrounds in working with children with special needs.

Team members include a Special Educator, a speech pathologist, a physical therapist, a registered nurse practitioner, a school psychologist, a staff member of Special Olympics and parents of children with special needs.

This class will be offered exclusively to single parents beginning September 17 and will end October 29. Gather first for a meal beginning at 6pm, send your kids to classes and come together for a Bible study with other single parents. The class will be offered Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30pm.
