COST: $15.00 for Nadine's book, Tears in My Gumbo (required for class; pre-purchase when registering)
Learn from author, Nadine Roberts Cornish, as she shares a dynamic view for caregivers, creating a culture of care which provides guidance and directives to care well. Nadine will highlight the importance of caring for ourselves in the process.
This training is open to our congregation, our community and those currently serving (and those interested in serving) on our Meal Care, Funeral Care, Prayer Care or Visitation Teams. All are strongly encouraged to attend.
Based on Nadine's book, Tears in My Gumbo, the Symposium will provide a paradigm for the importance for those who give care to remember to take care of themselves in the process. This book is required for the Symposium (cost $15).
Tears in My Gumbo inspires and supports caregivers while illustrating what is needed to maintain resilience and create soul nurturing care. The Five Steps of Conscious Caregiving are introduced and demonstrated throughout the book, which is ultimately about healing the heart and the spirit of the caregiver, allowing caregivers to understand the honor and joy of serving, as they support and care for their loved one.
When you register, you will receive a confirmation email with information on where to pick up your book and how to prepare for the class.
