Mental Health Ministry

Mental health illnesses are illnesses, just like heart conditions or diabetes. As with these other diseases, they are a result of a fallen world. And many mental disorders, like other health disorders, need lifelong management and never go away.

A bi-monthly support group designed to provide community as participants continue to explore and walk the path of mental disorder as a child of God. It is helpful but not required for participants to have taken the Overcome class prior to attending. CAVE takes place the 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month (except during holiday months) from 6:30-8pm in Study Room B, East Building. THIS GROUP IS FOR ADULTS AGES 18+. Childcare is offered with advance registration.

Colorado Community Church offers counseling from our pastors if the struggle is one that is spiritual in nature and involves offering support for mental disorders as they intersect with a person’s walk of faith. Call Colorado Community Church at 303-783-3838 ( or say “Call” and link this number) and ask for the Pastor of the Day to explore this option.

Colorado Community Church also partners with several different Christian counselors/organizations outside the church that offer ongoing counseling  in different areas of expertise.

Caregivers, family members and friends of those struggling with mental disorders, or “supporters” as My Quiet Cave calls them, have unique needs as they work to support their loved one. The Overcome class and CAVE support group are designed to also serve supporters in order to help them better understand their loved one’s struggle and establish healthy boundaries for themselves.

No one should walk through a mental health crisis alone. We all need a support system. Join us weekly on Friday nights for the H.O.P.E. CR Recovery group. This group will provide practical tools to help you build a supportive network of hope & is especially good for those struggling with multiple issues (i.e., mental illness & addictive behaviors). Go to the Celebrate Recovery webpage here for more info.

Whether you or your loved one is experiencing depression, bi-polar, anxiety or any other type of disorder, they are made in the image of God and are immensely valuable to Him. God’s promises are not negated because of mental health issues and all people, including those with mental disorders and those supporting them, need community. Colorado Community Church is not responsible for diagnosing, medications or therapy, but we can support one another in community with the love of Christ.
