We build intentional and lasting relationships with the eleven villages of the Amazon basin with the goal of providing some of their basic human needs in sharing the message of Jesus Christ. We primarily focus on the women in these villages by providing emotional support and activities for the children. We also train and equip local pastors and worship leaders as well as work to catalyze individual team member’s own personal transformation through teaching and seminars. In a larger scale, we work to develop connection and community between the villages through our annual “Rock the Rio” celebration.

The section of the Amazon Basin we reach is located about one hour outside of Iquitos, Peru. The area is without electricity and running water. The Peruvian people of this area are primarily farmers and fisherman. Though a self-sufficient people economically they are isolated socially. The family structure suffers from detached males who tend to dominate and abuse the women rather than provide and protect. Alcoholism among the men is fairly rampant and helps fuel many of each community’s social problems.
