"Since having kids, my relationship with the Lord has grown a lot
stronger." It's a common statement among Christian parents,
perhaps stemming from the abject fear that wells up when you
realize what parenting actually entails. You discover very early that
kids have a special way of illuminating and solidifying our adult

Walking the Talk (March 19, 2006)
Over 25 years ago his Christian wife excitedly shared some scripture with him. "Do not be anxious
about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests
to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all under- standing, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
"So?" he responded. It was futile, but she tried anyway to explain that God was telling them something
important. Again he reacted, "So?"

Walking the Talk (March 12, 2006)
She grew up in a home learning that "servants serve." He says the grace poured
into his life by the Lord is what gives him the desire and strength to serve. For
both of them, giving of themselves inside the church and out in the community is
just natural - and a source of continuing joy.

Walking the Talk (March 5, 2006)
When they ventured away from the Mexican resort area where they were
vacationing, an ache began to well in their hearts. They spent some time out
in the community meeting local people, and as they did, Jeff and Melanie
Hutt couldn't help but hurt for all those who were living on the edge of
society - not just in Mexico but those in their own communities and
neighborhoods as well.

Update from Costa Rica (January 22, 2006)
On January 5, a team of 10 people from the church headed to
Costa Rica on what they described as a "Vision Trip". Pastor Hugo,
who was part of the team, grew up in Costa Rica and this trip was
part of his passion to facilitate a relationship between Colorado
Community Church and the community of believers in the country
of his birth.

"I am not sure if I were to use the words of King David to express in
words my admiration and gratitude to these wonderful volunteers
from Colorado. My friend, Jean, suggested they must be angels
unaware, on assignment. I think this may be true.

During the month of January, Colorado Community Church will have three
mission teams in the field: one in Costa Rica, one
in Mississippi and one in Cambodia! These teams consist not
of "professional" missionaries, but pastors and members of
our own congregation - individuals who have responded to the
call of Christ to love and care for others in his name.
