They met in Siberia, got married in Colorado, plan to move to California (as soon as their house sells), and, ultimately, spend six months a year on the mission field in Mexico. Jim and Linda Mather are certainly not an odd couple, but they are definitely unique.

It should be no surprise that the ministry of intercessory prayer found its way to Cindy Alexander. "I'm what you would call a bleeding heart," she explains. "I feel others' pain. My father used to say, 'If you don't learn how not to do that, you'll go crazy because you can't carry people's pain with you.'

Walking the Talk (August 13, 2006)
Her compassion appeared early on. Barely old enough to talk herself, a chatty two-year-old proved remarkably gifted at communicating with special needs children. That toddler, Kelly Edwards, traveled to work every day with her mother, Mary, who worked at a school for kids with mild to moderate special needs. Kelly participated in class with the children and was a natural teacher's helper.

Picture this.You operate a women's day shelter, a clothing exchange, a support group for people who have been laid off, or any of a number of other ministries. You started out part time, but soon you could see that God was asking for all of your time, not just occasional nights and weekends.

2020 Vision Focus (July 30, 2006)
What will it take to see the greater Denver Metro transformed? It will take two things - knowing the heart of God and becoming prayer dependent. A city is characterized by its people and as such, we must deeply believe that God has the well being of the residents of our city constantly on his heart.

It's probably no accident that that this perspective comes from the prototypical "pew sitter." We come to church on Sunday, write a check to the church, sing the praises of it's ministry, and are so grateful to the rest of you who do all the work!

Bernita gave her heart to Christ on April 26, 1975 while reading Larry Tomczak's testimony in "Clap your Hands." Throughout her walk with the Lord since then, she had been asking God what He wanted her to do. "Be careful what you pray for," says Bernita.

"We laugh a lot, but they are serious issues," says Heather Michel. She's referring to the issues that dating couples discuss in the pre-engagement class that Heather and her husband, Todd, facilitate at Colorado Community Church. It's a six-week series designed to help couples decide whether that guy or gal they're dating is "the one."

Approximately 2800 folks of the CCC flock made it to Denver's finest animal farm from 4:30 to dark (and after) to eat, drink and be merry in fellowship and fun with each other.
