school of discipleship

As a facet of STAGES, the CCC School of Discipleship is a comprehensive 18-month discipleship process that is focused on making disciples who are growing in all aspects of the 5 banner characteristics of spiritual maturity, which are: Grace Centered, Spirit Led, Prayer Dependent, Worship Driven and Kingdom Obsessed.

Five Banner disciples are those who are connected to Christ, growing in Community and discovering their Calling in life to the glory of God. Their mission is to, likewise, connect others to Christ, Community and Calling.

The School of Discipleship is for anyone who desires to grow in their knowledge and love for God, His Kingdom and others. God is calling all believers in Christ to grow in a life overflowing with faith, hope and love. The School of Discipleship process will not be just another academic approach to spiritual growth, but it will also encompass very practical insights and opportunities to grow in Christian character based on sound biblical teaching.

The core curriculum of the CCC School of Discipleship is a biblically based and practical discipleship process that is 18 months in length, with each core subject taught in 14 week semesters. Each of the 5 Banner values represents the principle qualities and characteristics of a fully formed disciple of Jesus Christ at CCC-Aurora. Therefore, each of these character values is translated into practical teaching modules that progress from the basics of the Christian faith to the advanced stages of equipping and releasing believers into active ministry service, both within and outside of the church.

The 5 Banner Discipleship approach provides for the following needs:

  1. A strategic discipleship process for new believers in Christ.
  2. A course curriculum that is focused on making disciples who glorify God in all aspects of life.
  3. A repetitive and ongoing process of biblically sound teaching.
  4. A strategic and comprehensive process with definable outcomes.
  5. The flexibility for people to begin at the beginning, or attend modules on subjects of interest.
  6. An inherent accountability factor that allows a person to track their spiritual journey, while also providing church leadership as a means to more effectively support and encourage those involved.
