Lisa Nu’u

Pastoral Assistant

A Bit About Lisa

Name: Lisa Nuu

Hometown: Bakersfield, CA

Describe your job: I’m Pastors Richard Powell & Ray Cook’s boss … ummm I mean, their assistant.

What keeps you working here? Best job EVER! Best staff EVER! I am so blessed to get to serve the Lord alongside such amazing people!

One thing people don’t realize about the staff that they need to know: We really do love each other!

One thing about the Father that you find amazing: That among all of the zillions of people He has created throughout the centuries … that He still longs to know and love me intimately, even though I fail Him every single day. His grace is truly amazing.

Beach or Mountains? Do I seriously have to choose? Love both! After all, I’m originally from Callie!

Hot weather or cold weather? COLD. Hands. Down. Can someone get me a fan please?

Sport or Arts? Sports

Favorite hobby: Grandbabies (got 10 of ’em) & reading

Favorite food/restaurant: Carrabba’s chicken marsala, garlic mashies … anyone else hungry?

Favorite date spot (or place) in Colorado? La Estrellita (little Mexican dive in Brighton … best green chili ever!)

The best movie of all time clearly is: Don’t know if it’s the best of all time, but based on how many times I’ve watched it … “A Walk in the Clouds”

Everyone should read: The Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers

Most Embarrassing Moment? My first kiss … freshman in high school, I went to Prom with a friend and had that awkward moment when he walked me to the door of, “should we or shouldn’t we kiss?” He leaned in to kiss me …I panicked … he opened his mouth … I didn’t. Kissed him smack dab right on his braces.

In the next 5 years I will: Travel and see the world with my husband. First thing on my bucket list is to visit the Holy Land and walk where Jesus walked.

Any words of advice? Choose joy … every single day.
